This session will review effective teaching procedures and data systems for teaching age appropriate programming for leisure and social skills. Participants will be able to develop and implement systematic leisure programs with corresponding data systems.  The presentation will show examples from language-based assessments across various levels to develop appropriate programming for middle and high school aged students in social skill areas related to games, job tasks, activities of daily living, and opportunities in the community. The session will expand social skills across the verbal operants and the role of the mand, tact, listener response, and intraverbal in the development of social skills in the natural environment. Throughout the session, the instructors will present case study examples that include the assessment process, target selection, data systems, and video samples of students in both middle and high school classroom settings.
